Default Recon Cab lights on 05 Ram 1500

I'm new here and have located most of the tech info on this forum so far regarding the installation of the Recon cab lights on my ram. I just have a few more questions.

First off, I'll start by saying I have an 05 quad Cab 4x4 Hemi. That being said, I have the following questions still.

1. Will I have the wiring in place behing my passenger's side A-pillar trim to tap into or will I need to run wiring over to my light switch and tap in there?

2. Does the Recon kit come with everything I will need as far as a wiring harness goes or will I need to fab a wiring harness?

Any advice on the install would be appreciated. Thanks.

hey bud i actually just got done installing the kit. I had existing roof lights that i installed from scratch. I also have an 05 1500. The wiring in the truck was wired by me and i tapped into the switch for the headlights. So yes you have to run everything from scratch and the kit is beautiful looks better then the yellow clearance lights i had up there. any questions feel free to ask. pictures will be available tomorrow by the time i got done it was to dark for the"lights off" photo

thanks for the info. Are you guys generally liking the clear or the smoke lights? My truck is black with a decent amount of chrome. I saw the have the extra white ones too, but think they might look kinda cheap.

I've done these on an 03, 06, and 07. Every one of them had the wiring behind the passenger side a pillar.

The recon kit comes complete with wiring harness, but I have found it handy to have an extra 4 feet of wire to extend the ground.

The kits come with a harness?? Mine never did.. POS.. If I were you id go smoke, clear is nice but smoke looks awesome on a black truck.. And if you do have to make a harness its not hard, Just 2 main wires (+/-) then 5 short ones off each to go to the lights and then I ran the 2 main ones into the right a-pillar and into the stock harness.. very easy..

Did you look underneath the black tray? They're taped to the bottom. I think a lot of people accidentally throw them away.
