Default My weekend project finished!

Well, I ordered HIDs for the fogs and installed them last night. I also bought some new intake parts to bypass the 'hat' and I finished that Friday evening.....so what else to do?

I ordered the intake sleeves from silconeintakes.com. Of course, I still need to paint that center part black, but it's a little cold to paint right now.

looks awesome, but why didnt you just go with a open filter with a heat shield? you just partial to the stock airbox?

Well, I had the open filter for a long time. I felt that I lost low-end torque with that set up. I went back to the stoock set up a while back and the butt-dyno told me that the low end torque came back! Anyway, I removed the snorkel tube and have a K&N drop-in. The tubing is 4" PVC. I used a 4" to 3.5" 90 degree reducer for the TB and a 4" sleeve coupler for the airbox. The airbox probably could have used a 4" to 3.5" reducer as well but I put a little rubber sleeve around it to make up for the difference.

One thing I did not like about the open filter was the sound. It was just too damn loud. This gets rid of the hat for flow reasons, but the sound only increased a little. It sounds loud enough to hear it, but not obnoxious like before. I only drove it up and down the road a short bit, and it has good response. I'm satisfied with this setup.

I am going to do 3000K HID in some Hella 700ffs next behind the grill. The 500 series is a little small....the 700 series just right! LOL

I am ordering a light bar for behind the grill that will hold 4 lights. I am thinking one pair of 500ff and one pair of 700ff.......that should be enough light for now.
