I dont think it was ever cleaned before I bought it. I got it with 100,000 miles on it...so yea lol. I cleaned it shortly after buying it. Took me around 2 hours and like 6 cans of brake cleaner but I got it all off haha

thanks for all your help guys, i was able to get the clip off yesterday and cleaned up my throttle body it was alot easier to do than i expected, it took me an hour tops from start to finish. Here are some pics for ya.
The first pic is a before and second pic is after:

Good stuff, should have more throttle response now. Have you needed to replace the EGR valve yet? Judging by how nasty that TB is, I'd say you should be throwin that infamous code any day now.

Make sure you use non-chlorinated cleaner btw.

nope i havent replaced the EGR yet, im not too familiar with them actually. do you think i should go ahead and replace it or just wait for the code to show?!

I used CRC Throttle Body cleaner to clean mine, the stuff worked like magic, i only had to use half a can!
