The key is the right sound, not the annoyingly loud, redneck sound.
For flow, we're talking about a 4.7L, not a 440ci, too big of pipe means you won't have the proper backpressure, causing you to lose the low to mid-range torque. Better top end, but less pulling power at low RPM, as well as affecting performance in areas with a lot of hills on the roadway.

Default you could install it yourself

i don't know how different the 4.7 exhaust is form the 5.7 but I went to autozone and bought a 3" extension pipe 18"long that was flared at one end to make up the difference from the oem muffler. The stock muffler came out pretty easy with some pb blaster and a hammer to break it loose. They have some 2" hanger clamps I bought and just hammered them wider to fit a 3" u bolt clamp. I used one on each end of the AT3030 and it doesn't move around at all. A couple of those in the stock hangers and some u clamps and it was in. I left the stock resonator which gives it a nice rumble but is not loud at all. If you want it loud just don't use the resonator. Save your stock tailpipe in case it is too loud.good luck

if you have a 4.7, remove the muffler and weld in a straight tube for best performance/sound. i had that done to my 5.9 for $30 at the local muffler shop. sounds great.

love the video. the sound of a 360 with no muffler is perfect. and removing the muffler does not affect emissions johns, but it will add a little HP and MPG. nobody will ever pull you over for not having a muffler, i promise you that. ive had dodge ram's for the past 9 years now as one of my vehicles, and all with the muffler delete. i've lived in MN, IL, CO, and CA. No problems anywhere. Besides, you will love the sound of it.

Wow. When I bought mine I took it to a local shop and the guy charged me $40.00. That was for a chrome tip, welding the tip on, removing the stock muffler and welding the Aero on in its place!

Keep shopping around or find a friend who can weld! Look around for smaller mom and pop shops, I bet they would do it for a good price!
