Default torque control mod for early 3rd gen's

so i did the torque control mod on my 2002 4.7. it didnt seem like much of a difference. im wondering if i needed to wait a while before hooking the battery back up after hooking everything else up so the PCM would reset

Did you have a programmer already? They do 90% of what removing the wire does. If you were totally stock and pulled the wire it should be a night and day difference in how it shifts at full throttle.

no dont have a programmer. and i ran ran it to about 5600 rpm's and it seemed that it had a little more pull its just my truck has 150,000 miles on it so im really not the biggest fan of WOT. and when i did take it to full throttle when it shifted my transmission squeeked which it has done before at WOT conditions. will i be able to telll and difference at lighter throttle conditions maybe at like 4k rpm's

Torque isn't limited at part throttle so it changes nothing except full throttle operation.

I don't know how it works on 02's and/or 4.7s but it's a huge difference on 03's. It really slams the gearshift instead of easing from 1st to 2nd.

on your passenger side fender well theres a harness close to the firewall. unbolt that and there will be a yellow wire with green stripe on it. pull the red piece of plastic out from the inside of harness and pull the wire or use a jewleres screwdriver to push it out. tape off the end of the wire and leave it out then reinstall harness. there should be a 10 next to the wire on the backside of the harness
