You put you thought it could be the struts or the leafs. Is this happening on the back of your truck or the front?

I'd start with something simple first. Check out the shocks, make sure your leaf springs are not cracked or broken. Check out the rear u joint, and maybe the bearing going into the rear end for leaks. Make sure you're topped off on fluid in the rear end. Just a thought that you may want to check the simple things before diving into the rear end.

When my rear diff went on my old truck it whined then it started hopping and the hopping didnt last, it went about 30 seconds after the hop so I doubt its your rear end. Like others said, check other stuff first.

well i unloaded all the snow i had in my bed and went driving around in it earlier this afternoon. i dumped the clutch at a dead stop and had NO wheel hop, so i dont know if was because of the tires hitting snow and ice then slowly getting bite or what not, but its not doing it now but im going to keep checking this if it continues to happen. Thanks for all the input though, i was out in my driveway all day in 15 degree weather checking everything.
