I have an '05 QC hemi with about 65000 miles on it. Lately ive noticed that if i take a turn or go over a bump while turning i hear a knock/thump sound coming from the front wheel area. Its hard to say exactly where its coming from but i know its not the engine...
Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be? Or at least tell me where i should start checking?
I just bought this truck a few weeks ago, i hope its nothing major
I would start by looking at your upper and lower ball joints. Then move to the tie rod ends and check them out too. I'm assuming you have a 2wd?
yeah sorry its 2wd. I gotta go to work but ill check back later and give some more details about where the sound is coming from if i hear it again while driving around today.
So after drivin around today i realized that it only thumps when i take a turn AND hit a bump. It doesnt make any nosie when i just turn on a flat surface.
If it doesn't make the noise when you're driving straight and hitting a bump I would imaging I would start looking at the tie rod ends, then think about the ball joints.
