Best additave to clean engine?
#12
I personally don't run any cleaners or additives through the engine at all! Run 89 or 93 octane only! Wifes durango (04) 5.7 Hemi runs great and never had an issue with the engine at all 97,000 on it! Same with my Ram 26,000 and have all oil changes and fluids done by dealer! I would check and research the product and dodge to see what they say about it! With the ethanol in the gas today, that does do a bit of cleaning on it's own! Just my 3 cents!

I have used seafoam forever the best results i have had was pouring small amounts directly into the throtle body while keeping he truck running, only use up about a quarter can then dump the rest evenly into the tank and crankcase. you may experience dark purple smoking exhaust while and a few days after the treatment to the throtle body but no worries, just means its working the way its supposed to.

I'll tell you something about the injector cleaning capabilities. I have a weed whacker I bought in '96 and it was shot, would barely idle, and if you gave it gas it would just stall. Since I have two newer ones that run just fine, I was gonna toss it, figured I got my $'s worth out of it years ago.
For the halibut, I poured a 50/50 gas seafoam mix in the tank and started it. In about the first minute of running, it went from running rough as hell and fighting to keep it from stalling to running like a top, strong as new.
Because my other two units are bigger/heavier that take the attachments, I use this one most of the time for the grass. I use it now everytime I cut the grass, still runs like a top.
Another plus with Sea Foam is that it's a stabilizer, add some to your gas according to the instructions on the can and put it in your seldom run toys to keep them running in ship shape. I keep seafoam in my chain saws and generators full time...
