Changed my plugs today!!
The plats are generally regarded as garbage in the hemis. Some even state that it reduces performance. I havent seen real numbers though so it could just be haters, but at less than $2 a plug, I'd stick with the OEM coppers.
i know haha i meen ive done little stuff to it but im just dont know everything haha or even about spark plugs. and i just talked to my dad who was the trucks only other owner and he said hes never put new plugs in it so i got a project for monday. any one know which plugs are hard to do on the 4.7? sorry for the thread jack
google is your friend. I'm sure if you search here you'll find some answers lol
4.7L
Each individual spark plug is located under each ignition coil. Each individual ignition coil must be removed to gain access to each spark plug.
1. Remove necessary air filter tubing at throttle body.
2. Prior to removing ignition coil, spray compressed air around coil base at cylinder head.
3. Prior to removing spark plug, spray compressed air into cylinder head opening. This will help prevent foreign material from entering combustion chamber.
4. Remove spark plug from cylinder head using a quality socket with a rubber or foam insert. Also check condition of ignition coil o-ring and replace as necessary.
The spark plugs should be replaced with a champion plug number RC1 2MCC4 or equivalent gapped at .040"

As for the tornado, throw it away. It does nothing but add a restriction to the intake tract. You would only benefit from swirling air if there was fuel in it to help atomize it. Since there is no fuel added until just before the head, it is a pointless gimmick that restricts airflow and is as useless as a throtlebody spacer.
+1 thats exactly what I just got for mine form shucks. Need 16 plugs, don't forget that part. That auto parts guy needs a new career, sheesh.
meangreen, you needa change those things pronto before you start having misfire issues and f' up your engine. For the 4.7 I think you need Copper Plus 439 #RC12MCC4 .040 gap. And you only need 8.
The champs generally go for less than $2 a plug and they work great in our engines

I've changed hundreds of plugs in my lifetime and I will unfortunately say that most of these were not meant for gorilla sized hands. I always end up with bloody knuckles and the neighbors hear new curse combinatins they could never have imagined in 100 lifetimes.
