I made some brackets that will hold it in place, with a lip that will hold it from moving side to side. I also cut some 1/4" rubber to protect the paint. Hopefully it will work.

On my '98 Ram I just ran three strips that foam tape you get for around window air conditioners. Between it compressing from the weight of the box and the tackyness of the tape, the box never moved.
Of course someone could steal your toolbox if they really wanted to, but it will work just fine. As stated, I drilled a hole in each side of mine and went with a couple fifty cent "J" bolts in this one...

I bought some toolbox clamps at Lowes for 25.00 that clamp on the lip of the bedrail and you bolt the toolbox to the clamps. They work great. I can take the box off in minutes when I wash the back.

Not sure what the DU forum is. I am a member of a few hunting forums: Rut Junkie, Whitetail Mafia, and Bucking the Odds.

I did make some brackets, going to see how they work. If they start slipping going to look some for some of those clamps you guys were talking about.
