gear change???
my truck is a complete bog driving down the road. its got the stock 3.73s in it and theres just no drivadility. if i do a gear change what gears should i go to and will it effect my milage at all??? also, how hard is it to swap gears and how much are the parts.also, will it give me some more hp and tq??? i would expect tq. oh i almost forgot, how hard is it to clean the tb??? and how do i clean it
check out moesperformance.com, havent done them yet but everyone said the 4.56s will effect your highway mileage, i wouldnt try doing it yourself unless you know what your doing (from what i have read) and a shop locally told me 900 to do both front and rear because im 4x4 that includes the gears, and the throttle body is held on by i wanna say 4 bolts after you take the intake off, take the sensor off and pull it out, spray the front and back good wipe it down and put it back on
If you are unsure how to clean a throttle body, don't even attempt to do gears yourself. Even most general mechanics sub out gear work. Find you a shop that does it on a regular basis to have it done.
You will GAIN mpgs in town, FEEL more power to the wheels, tow better, lessen transmission strain and wear and probably have a few other benefits I failed to mention. Your gas mileage on the interstate will probably drop a mpg or two, especially up over 75 mph or so, but that's really the only negative here.
As far as the TB cleaning, as with most common questions you need to GOTO the FAQ section:

That's my opinion w/ the stock tire sizes. I've got the nv3500 as well and went w/ 4.10's myself. I think your truck probably has 3.55's in it now, check the glove box sticker or the tag on the rear end to be sure.
