Default Best cam with SC

Basically what the title says, what is the BEST cam (for me that means highest low-midrange gains) i can get without going to a custom tune, simply running the SC 3865 93 tune?

Thanks!

good point, i think your right haha, 91 my mistake. Is that the general consensus that the sidewinder is the best? how does it compare to the comp 260, and im guessing the comp 268 wont work with the sc tune?

No 93 tune, not for the hemi at least.

A sidewinder is a little more tune friendly than a 260. They are pretty much the same cam for all practical intents and purposes. The 268 would be lacking a lot of it's potential without a custom tune.

So you say it would be lacking potential, does that mean that it would acutally run worse than the 260 or sidewinder? Or better, just not as good as it can.

Agreed your only realistic choices are the sidewinder and the Comp 260, although I've heard that since Comp took over making the KRC cams since Crane is bye-bye, that they have a 210 version, (210x ?) that can be tamed with only an SC canned tune...

as far as I know, the 210x is the 210 but designed for larger heads (meaning more aggressive than the 210). And to tame the 210, you need to be able to adjust idle, which you cant do with the SC.

OP, what year is your ram?

AF Hemi, I know everyone says "adjust idle.....adjust idle"........

But with my 210, it idled fine with my tune at 700rpm. My point or question really is does the idle really need to be adjusted to keep it running. Most guys with tight LSA and a bunch of lope need to increase the idle to keep it running right? Uh huh. But with mine I ended up idling it DOWN to right at 600 so you could hear the lope more. So what is the stock HEMIs idle? 700-ish? I cant remember mine but Im fairly sure thats it. And if so then the 210(x) will run just fine at that idle speed, or at least it did on mine.
