Thats for sure. I had both racks done already and its not cheap. I think the alignment was almost $200.

drive the truck home, get the parts and do it yourself... all this stuff can be done in your driveway with basic tools and you can get the other tools you need on a loaner program from most auto parts stores. my rack cost $180 after core, tie rod ends are about $40, ball joints are like $10 and an alignment (at a different shop)... there ya go, should be able to have it done for less than $300 but you will get greasy...
i can give you some pointers on the rack if needed...

Same here, I was quoted $600 for a rack replacement. I filled it up while I checked for a place to change it and it stopped leaking. This was almost two years ago. My neighbor had they same problem and I told him to fill it up and he also isn't having anymore leaks. Both leaks came from the truck sitting for awhile. I am a old guy so I don't get pushed around, but I don't go any place were I can't watch what they are doing. If they insist on a BS policy simple tell them that you understand and back your truck out of there. Usually that settles it. Even at the dealer I tell them up front that I won't leave my truck unattended. I can't really remmber having an issue about it. Probably has something to do with my excellent people skills I have perfected while working at shipyards. It is your truck and your money, don't let them jerk you around.

Whenever it goes to the stealership for an oil change or whatever else, I watch em from start to finish. I don't like being f**ked with either but I could only get it in the shop while I was at school otherwise I would have watched em.

Sorry to hear you are being jacked around Shiloh,I'd say in the future go elsewhere if you aren't happy with the way these guys are treating you. The $650 isn't bad for the work if that is parts included. Just make sure they really do the work and do it right! Buisnesses can't usually afford too much bad publicity, especially in todays economy.

Considering there are maybe 3 shops in town, they don't need a bad rep. The other two have screwed me and my mom over on my truck and her car and truck. So I'll prolly just go outta town next time, I don't trust any of these f**kers.

Ask around your local area for recommendations from other people, word of mouth can be a great tool sometimes.
