Talking Tailgate lock assembly

I found a tailgate lock assemby on Ebay( It replaces the stock tailgate handle with a after market keyed handle), and from what I can tell it appears to be decent. I was wondering if anyone bought one? From what little installation directions I see on the sellers listing it doesn't seem that hard to install. A friend of mine had his tailgate stolen and it cost him a pretty penny to replace.

Ive seen a few guys come here with them. They all seemed to like them but also all agreed it could be broken if someone really wanted to get past it.

Some guys will put hose clamps on the tailgate where it hinges to the truck. JimmyJammer also makes a piece to go there also to keep it from being stolen.

If a thief would break a lock, I'm sure he'd undo a hose clamp too

What's better Pop Lock or Bully lock ?

Bully I like the look and keys this one has, but know little about it otherwise.

Pop Lock I had one on my Silverado, didn't use it for a few months and it seemed to seize up. I didn't like the little keys either.

Its not the point that he can or cant undo a hose clamp, its that it increases the time it takes him to steal it and therefore increases the time of being noticed or caught

Actually upper middle class. GUN LAWS RESTRICTIVE IN FLORIDA! FLORIDA IS THE SHOOT FIRST THAN ASK QUESTIONS STATE. It pays to be a CWP holder.

Yea, Im thinking of getting my concealed permit renewed for Florida instead of LA. Its cheaper and lasts like 10 years i think? and its part of that deal where its legal in 38 states (so i can get it from florida but use it in LA)

But that would suck ******* to get your tailgate stolen. My old Ford got broken into 3 times in 3 nice neighborhoods. The would just stick a screwdriver under the doorhandle. Cut my alarm twice too! I wish I woulda known about JimmiJammers then

BTW, why dont our trucks have locking tailgates? Every truck Ive owned has had them until the Ram
