Working on E-fan... few questions..
Hey guys, it seems like everyone is doing an efan this weekend. I finally got that fukken clutch off, what a b!tch! I never thought that clutch would be so hard to get off it didnt help any that i was laying in 3" of melting snow (AKA puddle)... anyway i have a few questions that have probably been answered somewhere but with all the efan questions out there i dont feel like searching all day.
Questions:
1. is the water pump pulley pressed on? there doesnt seem to be much holding it on, if it is pressed on, could it eventually work its way off?
2. the taurus fan is smaller than the radiator (about 2-3'' shorter and 2'' narrower... wont this create hot spots on the radiator? Im thinking about cutting the sides off of it and putting the stock shroud over it so it cools the whole radiator.
3. is everyone just putting the stock shroud over the efan to hold the washer and coolant tanks?
4. and i would still like some help on the wiring of this thing... look HERE
well i gotta go wash the blood off my hands and put on some dry clothes. THANKS!

why were you under the truck?
it is big enough to cool the radiator, water flows through in front of it.
yes put stock shroud over it, I cut a notch in the stock shroud to easily get it over the fan.
My water pump pulley did not move just the shaft came out of the center.

smkn- i read your post about 4 times today. LOL. i got the wiring down, but if you remember, i want to have it switched to run on high... and i was laying on the ground because that was the only way i could get any leverage on the goddam fukken somebich ******* bastard fan clutch! my knees hurt so goddam bad from kneeling on the bumper..
my w/p pump didnt move either but what holds it on now?

LMAO!!!! yeah that is a som biotch!!! that fan made a simple job last several hours!!
As far as the wiring, My relay kept blowing the inline fuse on high! I am running on low with NO issues. the fan is working flawlessly so far. drove it awhile this morning and ran it pretty hard up some mountain roads and the fan kept it cool!
And yeah the WP pulley must be pressed on, the shaft did not affect that piulley on my truck
