Catastrophic Trans Failure Update #3 (PICS!!)
Well guys, some of you have been following my nightmare, some of you are just joining in. but, as promised, here are pics of "The Aftermath" as I like to call it.
here are some pics of the parts of the input clutch (that i worked on while installing the HD2) they are pretty much in pretty good shape.
now here are the thrust bearings i was talking about in my first couple of posts, and what used to be a snap ring.
heres the tranny case, still in really good condition. only the internals are toast. anyone wanna buy it?
heres my truck, as it sits now at the base auto shop.
and heres my shiny new tranny cooler. notice how HUGE it is.

the new stage 2 will be in by the end of this week or the beginning of next. most likely next week. yeah that snap ring is toast, if only you guys could see it in person. its stretched to the max.
yup, the cooler is a direct replacement of the one i ruined already. and also an exact replica of the one you are using truckin, or so i hear.
i dont think i will ever truly know what caused it to blow. could be a number of different things. i am certified in arson investigation, but not blown tranny investigation, nor am i CSI. besides, thats all in the past now, no sense in dwelling on the past. now i have a sharadon tranny to look forward too!

it may look just like yours, but its a good double the size. for reference it was sitting almost right up against my wheel/tire (285/75/17)
