Weird odd problem with HIDs in Fogs
Yeah, I would bet bad ballast too... I have never in every experience I have had with hid's heard of that happening on a light without a computer problem in sequence... Either a short which is very possible, maybe allowing it to reach like 25 watts and once it reaches that the short is just overdrawn... thats a guess at it... But otherwise I say a bad ballast, is it both or just one fog lamp?
if nothing else, pull the wire you have to keep the fogs and highs on at the same time, replace the fuse and see what you get. If it works you know to leave the wire off. If it doesnt then you know you might have a bad ballast.
jeremy on DT (numbers) Said that the slim ballast do this when it gets cold. Its 12 degrees right now so I am gonna ride it out for a while until it warms up and see then. But its only the driver side doing this. The passenger isn't and it might look like on the video that the headlight is dimming. But it ain't.
yea, okay well its sounding like a bad ballast to me too then if the headlight isnt dimming. I had a bad ballast one time, but it didnt do that, it would mysteriously shut off or take like 30 seconds to come on. I actually think I have a ballast going bad right now.
Did you say that you switched ballasts from one side to the other to see if it did it?
