Default minor concern

This is the short version. I ordered a 2" level from truxxx. When ordering I was guaranteed that I would NOT need new shocks. I put on the kit and it was a very tight fit. My ride was very bouncy and rough but I just figured it would settle. I had the alignment done and all that good stuff the following Monday. I put the kit on saturday and the next friday while driving home I hit a big dip and heard a LOUD pop. I thought someone shot a gun off it was that loud. I go very slow the rest of the way home as I know it is my truck that popped. I get out the find both shocks laying in my springs. Not good. I call truxx and they tell me to go and get new shocks and fax them the reciept so they can pay me back. I go get shocks and WOW what a difference. My stock shocks suck and these are great. BUT, when I go over anything that has a little drop to it when the front tires go over the front end seems like it goes down pretty hard. I dont know if it is just me being extra cautious about every little bump now or if something else could be loose down there. The bumps and dips and things like that are very smooth in the truck it is just when I go over anything that has a little drop off to it then it pops a little. Am I over analyzing everything or could there be a problem?

probably over analyzing. I honestly don't know how anyone could put 2" of suspension lift of any kind without replacing the stock shocks with longer ones. I don't care what the lift manufacturer says. I'm actually amazed they are going to reimburse you for the shocks. Good deal...

Thanks for the reply. I figured I was just over analyzing this. Truxxx has been great about it. He said that he has had one other person call with the same problem. They did not ask any questions, I gave them the part number that I bought and they were very quick to get the problem fixed and even called me to tell me that they were sending out the check.

Strange, those are the exact same keys I put in my truck, and have had zero issues without changing any other components.

You're probably just needing to get used to the truck. Like hammer said, I never get why someone wouldn't put longer shocks on. The shocks over extended in there. You in a sense topped them out.

^^^^yeah, they were done by the time I got them out. Much better now though. I am just very cautious now with anything that i hit or run over.

He didnt put keys in his truck like you did, he has an 08, not an 05, his suspension is completely different than yours.
