I call BS 2x!!

I know a guy at the local Dodge stealership who i paid on the side to install my Auburn LSD and setup my 456 gears. I specifically asked him about an updated flash for my 04 and I texted him my VIN number and he looked it up and said there was a newer flash available.

As for the idle RPMs, ask the guys here what thier trucks idle (warm) at and most will say 700-750 in park. I specifically idled mine DOWN to 600 with my cam but Im sure it WILL NOT go much lower than that.

This is when I was done

I took a damp rag and wiped out the part after it, but couldnt get anywhere near all of it.

Anyone know why I could be getting a low idle? Its never been a problem before, but now that I have things hooked up to the battery the alt doesnt charge at such a low rpm. Thanks for lookin!
damm hmm maby a leak by vaccum didnt really see what people said just my 2 cents that or check the way the wires are routed maby you have too much power and not charging

I'll go out and check again for a leak or something, but I dont think there is one. I dont know what to do about the pcm flash, if they wont do it what can I do? Now from what Ive heard the idle issue with the PCM is only for 04 and 05 trucks, anything newer wont have that issue. IF the udpate for the pcm only raised the idle I can just have the tuner do that.

IDK what the PCM flash includes but I asked my guy if it was worth it and he said his motto was if it wasnt broke then dont fix it which i know we have all heard and makes good sense so i left well enough alone.

While my idle is low, it is not rough, it has never shut off on me, I get decent mpg. My real problem is how the alternator doesnt put out enough charge at that low of an rpm, and my sub lowers the volts to much. Im most likely just gonna go get the diablo tuner to bump the idle up a little. Since i have no real engine mods beside a drop in k&n do you think the 87 tune will hurt it?

Note: I had the alt replaced about a month ago, and just recently had it retested. At 600-800 rpm its fine, at the 500 range it only charges 12.9. Ive had a computer test for the alt done and it checked out fine. I also have a yellow top optima. My amp only runs about 600 watts so there should be no problem with the 136a alt charging. Im starting to think that the alt just isnt designed to charge at that low of an rpm. Ive also been looking at the TSBs online, and cant find anything related to a pcm reflash.

Some say that the K&N lets in too much dirt. I put one in 2 yrs ago and gonna check clean TB this weekend at 88k miles. Good thread been wanting some info on getting in there.
