i was actually at wal mart getting oil today and im pretty sure that they had the 5-20. sometimes they wont have a certain weight or brand for a short period of time for whatever reason, either theyre sold out or need a shipment i guess. i use 5w-30 mobil one, everything cost $44 today.

 

My 08 V6 says 5W20. My walmart had it the last time I changed oil. been using Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 filter.

 

Like I said, mine normally carries it, but didn't see it this time. On Mobil 1's website, it appears they're rebranding some of the containers. Hopefully that's why it's missing.

Price of motor oil gone up again, last time I was in Wal-mart, this summer, price of mobil1 5w-20 was $22.00. I bought the last two 5 quart jugs.

 

speaking of oil changes, I changed mine today and notice in the bottom of the pan that i drained to oil into i found what looked to be like very small peices of gravel. obviously its not gravel but i was wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing. it didnt seem to be metal shavings. i was thinking it might just be the oil cleaning out sludge and crap in the motor?

 

I always examine the old oil very carefully and I can say, I don't have any deposits that sounds like what you are discribing. When did you last change the oil?

 

You know they don't bother you so much if you pay for the stuff before going outside. lol
