Lightbulb Enough Benefits in a Tuner for me?

I am all but ready to order the cortex superchips tuner when I got to thinking....will I fully benefit from this to make it worth the $350.00 purchase price.....I drive my truck pretty much everyday, 50 mile round trip for work on the highway. I tow my mustang maybe once or twice a month or more during the summer, less in winter months. So I am looking at getting the tuner for slight mpg inprovments on high, better towing during summer. I am not getting a tuner to make the truck fast. Dont get me wrong, I got the hemi for towing, and for the "go" it has when I need it, but if I want fast, I have my mustang. But I do enjoy the power of the Hemi of course....so would I see enough benefits (even if 1 mpg inprovment highway) to make the purchase worth while? Thanks guys/gals!!!!!

And as far as mods...the most the truck would get would be exhaust and intake

And I guess I should also add...I am not one to go into and mess around with programs...I pretty much would load up whats loaded factory canned tunes. As mentioned, thats why I have my mustang to play around with etc. Thanks all!!!!

I seen the updated tranny stuff coming soon....

The cortex is the next step up from the regular superchips, It has a couple extra's but not to much from the normal superchips.

if you're not getting it for more control over your pcm/tcm, more power, or anything performance and only looking for mpgs, you're looking at the wrong mod. think of it this way. to add 1mpg, you add on approximately 25 miles per tank. This adds approximately 1.5 gallons and saves you approximately $4.50 per tank. Do the math... It would take more than 70 tanks to pay itself off (over 21,000 miles).

then again, if you drive it a whole lot I think you'll find you'd be glad you got it BECAUSE of the increase in performance (as well as mpgs)

my vote is YES

you might look into the superchips flashpaq 3865 instead. It will also have all the tranny support, but costs less than the cortex. I think you'd get better return on investment for the flashpaq.

100% worth it. Next to new gears a tuner is the best mod for the money. I've been testing new trans option for a bit and they're amazing. You're going to tune your truck, drive around, and get out with a huge smile on your face. It's crazy how much of a difference they make.

cortex does not give you any functionality over the flashpaq.

damn, i voted before i read your post. it is NOT worth it for MPG. take out my yes vote and make it a no vote. but after you have it and program your trans, you'll wonder why you waited.
