Default New Mods!!

Well today I finally got some stuff done on the truck!! I got my new tires mounted and worked out the kinks, 315/70/17s so like 34.5x12.25.. They are BFG A/Ts, I really like these tires, I ran them on all my old fords with no complaints. The only issue is the chitty stock rims have no backspacing or very little and the bloody tires are to wide and rub on the upper control arms.. Very ****ty to find that out when I bolted them back on. To fix the problem I had to throw some 1/4" wheel spacers on the front so the next mod will be some cheap rims just to get the spacers out of there. Next year when Im dont school I wanna lift the truck and get 18" rims and bigger more aggressive tires, I just got these for some more clearance until next year and I was tired with the ****ty stock tires!! Other mod is my CB, I got it all installed and working. I made the bracket to mount it in front of the center seat out of aluminum checker plate and mounted the antenna in one of the front stake pockets, but I didnt get any pictures of the antenna..

The last picture looks like the back tire is rubbing but its just the angle, the back has plenty of clearance! Its just sagging a bit from the load of scrap steel..

No I used the DIY on here somewhere and took them apart and painted the insides to match the rest of the truck.. It wasnt to bad but not something id attempt again, I think eventually im gonna buy the same headlights as you have once I get new rims cause they will be black and the headlights will match them.. and everything else on the truck will be grey..

Itll actually be the exact same thing as you got going on except black and grey..

maybe its the pic then. I hate the way the plastic on my headlights shine, I have been thinking about making them a little darker to take the glare off of them.

Truck looks good by the way.

+1 on your truck. It's the theme I'm going but white And I have the same wheel's as you but I plan on painting them black eventually to see how they turn out. I'm wondering how the wheels would hold up to 295/70's with a level kit . . . or would I be better off with slightly taller but narrower tires, say the 285/75's ?

Easy enough to open up the headlight housings ?

Yah I noticed the grey inside really changed the appearance of the plastic outside. Maybe 1 light coat of that spray on tint would get rid of the glare?

Silentram Id stay with narrow tires, I cant get on the calculator on another forum i use to see what those sizes you have are in imperial but if you can find something around 35" tall and 12" or less, even 11.75 wide would be optimal with the stock rims. mine are like 12.25 wide and I had to run 1/4" spacers. With the level you can fit the 35" tall no prob. I like the way the height fills the wheel wells.

Thanks. Exactly what I wanted to hear. Looks like I'll be going with the LT285/75R17 NTG's when I get around to filing my taxes haha. I think I'll finally do it this weekend And be satisfied with a simple level kit for now.

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp This is the tire size calculator I use. I use the above mentioned one for overlapping comparison but it gets cut off when reaching 33"+.
