Default karma kicked my butt...i need some advice!

This is gonna be a long post and not really related to my truck but w/e.
So I left the track around 9pm tonight to go home. I had 2 buddies a 4wheeler a generator and a air compressor in my truck. on the way home I was doing 75mph on the highway and i hit a steep downhill. I let my truck coast down the hill and a old beater chevy comes flying by me.....The girl in that truck AND me get pulled over by a cop. He says we were street racing and made us get out of the vehicles and get in the grass. He said he lasered me doing 86mph, which i will not argue I may have been doing that down the hill. He then looks at her and says she was doing 97mph.....she was. He says "Ok since yall didnt run and cooperated i wont take yall to jail". He then gets a emergency call on his radio "a black corvette and a red firebird doing in excess of 120mph in traffic". He quickly takes our licenses and goes back to his car. He returns with our tickets and we signed them. He wrote BOTH of us for doing 95 in a 65.....I followed him back to his car and said "sir you told me i was doing 86 and my ticket says 95". He says "well I ticketed you both for the same speed". He then speeds off and i have no choice but to take the ticket. What can I do? I was honestly not racing that girl and I was not doing 95mph.....which he told me i was doing 86. I love racing and thats why I go to the track! not the streets. What can I do?

I would see if you can talk to him and try to explain. If he doesn't want to listen and he probably won't. I would in this case get a lawyer and go to court to fight it. Clearly your ticket has the wrong speed written on it to start with and this may be all your lawyer needs to get it dropped. I am not the best person to give advice with this **** as the last time I went to court for speeding, I got dragged out from in front of the judge by the deputies. I do ok with the county sheriffs, but the state troopers and I have a problem. And I'm a old guy..... One of the reasons I live overseas for part of the year. No traffic laws are enforced here! Good luck..

In texas more than 25 over and you cant take defensive driving. Im not going to take this ticket with a grain of salt. If he would have ticketed me for 86 id shrug and take defensive driving. I was in the wrong obviously but not to that extent!

Did the girl driving the other truck hear him say you were doing 86? If so, there is your witness in court...

the difference in your speed can be fought. did any of your buddies hear him confirm that you were clocked at 86? you could argue that he just hit you both with the same speed to simplify the tickets to answer another call. in Colorado, if he charged you with street racing, would lose your license. Good luck m8
