My truck is at the dealer right now getting an o2 sensor replaced, (again). $110 for diagonstics, which I already gave them the code, 1/2 hour labor and another 1/2 hour labor because he says they have to download updated programs into the truck after. WTF is wrong here? $325 for something I can do myself minus the download. That is why I hate dealerships. Is this download really necessary? And if it is, shouldnt it be of no charge to someone who owns their product? It is emissions related and all.

download is probably unneeded, it may fix emissions stuff a bit but for your truck its probably unneeded. Get out of that dealership there robbing you.

Yah, not going back there again. Next time a sensor goes, (and one will) I'll just put it in myself and reset the computer. Im extremely unhappy with them right now.

If you have the p/n for the one that is specified for the engine I would use it as long as you can get it to adapt to your current exhaust. In the long run, I dont think either will matter as long as you have a good cat, no leaks and good O2 sensors.
