Default Question about cost of Front Hub bearings?

Might have to replace the Front LEFT HUB BEARINGS.......What is the usual cost for this, including parts? I might as well do both left and right, so cost for both would be helpful.

Thanks.

no idea as to the cost - but I'm getting a noise from my front left side that sounds like brakes dragging... What were your symptoms?

Actually, the same sound, like brakes dragging....
They took off the wheels, and checked the brakes. Brakes are fine...Turned the wheel without tire on it, and heard a grinding noise.

Have you checked to see how much your would cost?

I just changed the passenger side on a few weeks back. The part was $185 at Oreilly, this is for the National made on. They do sell cheaper chinese ones, which I went with originally but it went out within 2 weeks, so i brought it back under warrenty and paid the extra for the National one.

I've done this myself twice now. I recommend going to Autozone and getting the Timken ones. They are made in America, have a 1 year Autozone warranty and a 100,000 mile Timken warranty on them. They cost exactly 187 bucks a piece if I remember right. Doing it myself, I had the part cost plus some beer for my buddies helping me, heh. My local shop, who I trust implicitly, wanted a total of 650 bucks to do both. I only changed the one bad one, and saved myself 400+ dollars. Be warned, it can be a real pain to do though. Getting a steel hub out of an aluminum knuckle is pretty dumb most times, due to the galvanic welding that goes on.

Get the Timken ones if you can afford it, you'll NEVER have to worry about them again!

Going rate is around $200 per and if you can't/won't do the work yourself, then figure about $150 a side labor at a good quality shop.

They are not hard to do. I had forgotten about the ones on ebay. There is a Dodge dealer on there selling OEM ones for $80 or so a piece. I can't link to it now because searching ebay on a blackberry bites. I knew about them when I changed mine but didn't have time to wait for it to come in, hence the chinese bearing I had originally installed.

I had both of mine replaced at the same time. I got lifetime warranty hubs from Carquest for $212.00.

Making sure, that I am getting the right thing done, I am asking this question, which is related to the issue at hand.

It just dawned on me, that a couple of weeks ago, we had a several bad snow storms one after the other. After one of these snow storms, the snow was packed down and became icy, which was very slippery.

One day as I was driving the truck slid sideways, and the Front Drivers side wheel struck the curb REALLY hard. I got out, checked, and saw the apparent damage, so i figured all was well.

Now I am thinking, that all of the damage was probably done to the wheel and its components.

One other thing, as i was driving tonight i noticed another thing. At 30 MPH when turning Left, I hear a "whomp, whomp, whomp, whomp" type sound which more or less sounds like a helicopter hovering...I want to make sure that i am getting the correct thing fixed. Is this the Hub bearing which is damaged or some other component?

Thanks in advance.
