Default Sluggish Hemi

My 2004 dodge ram 5.7l is running sluggish. I replaced the factory plugs 50,000 miles ago, and again 140,000 miles with platinum plugs and it is still running sluggish. Can anyone tell me where I should look next? Coil pack, injectors???

Have you looked at the air filter, dirty TB? Any codes showing? egr? I have heard here that the Hemi doesn't like the platinum plugs, maybe try copper coats. Wires and coils I think will throw a code.

No codes or indicator lights. I was thinking of a bad coil or injector but i figured it would throw a check engine indicator. I had replaced the stock plugs with more stock plugs and had the same issue (champion plugs). I will check the filter and egr.

The TB often needs cleaning as miles accumulate. Fuel filter could also slow the engine down.

If you've gone much more than 30k miles since your last TB cleaning, that's the first thing I'd try. I clean mine every 15k which is about every two years for me and it's pretty gunked up even at that interval...

nope, take of your intake, remove the wire clip from the TB, then take the 4 bolts out with a 8mm socket and it comes right off. i just did it friday. i used non-chlorinated brake cleaner and sprayed a rag, not directly on the tb cause i didnt wanna screw up the electrics. when you first see it it doesnt look dirty till you turn it around!

I agree, plugs, wires, TB, EGR, PCV, good fuel, air filter, good tire pressure
