just like anyone else who lives in the south i have a crack on the dash of my dodge from the sun. is there any tricks to fixing this like a puddy or filler, or am i just goin to have to buy a new dash?

 

i have the same problem except with a 6 inch by 4 inch whole and about 8 cracks. lets just say dont let friends rie with you that like to pound on the dash. but i great fix to this is a dash cover. you cant even tell they are there check lmc truck and some other truck sites

 

The othe option is a vinyl repair shop. I'd have to do some research for down there but if you google fibrenew you will get an idea of what I am talking about.

 

I'd say dash pad is the easiest although not necessarily the prettiest IMO. Does help alot with glare though. My dash has excessive glare and with a dash pad you will get nothing.

 

i really dont like the look of dash pads, dodge says a new dash is 80 bucks so i might just buy a new one

I think you need to buy them out and go into the dash business! I have a source for MOPAR parts at the dealers cost and the last I checked for a friend with an '02 with a cracked dash, dealers were paying almost $300 for them.

It just amazes me how many people don't use a simple $10 sunshade!!!

 

if you go to stock interiors. com they have em for 90 bucks

 

I used a sun shade since I bought it and My dash has 8 cracks now.. I used cleaner and Protectant and still it Cracked. I have a friend with a 2003 Ram he uses in a mobile Detail business and he cleans his truck everyday ( part of looking good for customers) his dash cracked in 2007 ( 4 yrs old )

I have 6 diffrent Customers with Dodges and every one of them ( some as new as 2008 mdls ) all have Cracked Dashes.. Do a Youtube Search for Dodge Ram Cracked Dashes.. There was a TV special on the News about the issue.. Still Dodge Did ZERO about it..

The Ram Dash Sucks.. Like the 9.25 rear ends and the Heater Doors and the 4.7 engine and the Warped Rotors and bad 2 pc drive shafts and
I could Go On for Ever....

Again my 1996 was amazing.. Don't make them like that any more..
