How do you guys add diff fluids?
9 1/2" rear for a 1500 model truck is 75w 140 for the rear and it's 2.32ltrs 4.9pts or just 1/4" below the oil fil hole to stop foaming which causes overheating of the gear sets.
Front axle C205F is 75w 90 & 1.66ltrs 3.5 pts.
Front axle 9 1/4" AA is 75w 90 & 2.25ltrs 4.75pts.
Don't forget to add 4oz of the traction modifier in the rear if you have an LSD and drive 6-8 figure of 8 circuits after the install to distribute it into the oil.
As for filling, I used one of my sons RC car fuel fill bottles. It has a screw on cap with a 6" 1/4" diameter flexible tube on a one pint plastic bottle. When I warm up the diff fluid and bend this pipe a bit, I can fill the diffs by squeezing the plastic bottle. It goes into the diff like a charm.
As I say, warm up all the diff oil by either driving the vehicle for a short while to help with it's removal if using a suction device and also warm up the diff oil by sitting the new container of oil in a warm bucket of water, to aid in filling. That will help a lot in very cold weather as the ol is a lot less thick and flows easier.
Hope this helps?
