Default Huh. So, it *is* "Heavy Duty"

I had a little over a yard of damp fill dirt dropped in the back of the truck today. Ballpark on the weight is 2,500-3,000lbs. The truck dropped between 1-2" (I'll have to measure after/before) but the back end is still higher than the front.

I'm probably right at/about my payload max, but the truck doesn't look or feel like it is.

take pics of before/after too if you can. I'd like to see how it sits with that load.

If you have an '08 2500 the payload capacity is up to around 5,000 pounds. You're still a good bit away from making that truck sit level with what you hauled.

Payload on my particular truck is 2,700lbs. My GVWR is something like 8,900.
5,000lbs would likely break something.

Yeah, I was gonna say that you guys were way off, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the 2500s were just under 3k and the 3500 NON-dually was just a bit over 3k...

I got a buddy with a 2500 who thinks that just because he installed 5000 lb. air bags in the back of his that he can put that much weight in the bed. I'm waitin' for his axle to be on the laying in pieces on the ground one of these days...

****, that was the curb weight I was thinking of. I was reading up on them a while ago and I couldn't remember. It is around 2700 pounds.

Not even a 3500 has a 5,000 payload.
