Transmission issue?
What would cause a hard shift, when shifting from park to any gear. When i first get in my truck, engine could be cold or hot, putting it in reverse or forward, there tends to be a pause before it goes into gear, and then slams into gear. The tranny only has 34k on it, any ideas?
Mine does the exact thing.. Its an 07 with 40,000 miles on it I just got it last month and The dealer gave me a 3 month 3000 mile war. I was thinking of having it looked at as i only have another month left on it... Mya be normal i dont know.
back too the truck this a gradual thing or all of a sudden?? I had a broken motor mount do that too me. Just a thought
lol trucks are pretty high off the ground shouldnt be a prob. the bearings in one of my pullys on my old blazer seized and shredded the belt. It left rubber goo all over the different wheels on the belt line and squeaked like a SOB. I found the best way to clean it was to stick your hand between the belt and fan with a piece of sand paper to clean it while the truck was running. that was scary.
I would get it checked out if you still have the warranty. Ive owned many trucks and never had this problem so it cant be normal just on Dodge's. I called up the dealer since mine is still under warranty and he told me to pay for a trans flush and fill and that might solve the problem. Still trying to figure what that would do to fix the problem. They want $178 to do this and i feel as though if i dont do it there not going to fix the problem.

Just dont know what would cause the pause before it shifts. Normaly when you shift, it should be almost instant in any gear. It doesnt happen all the time, but it seems to be getting worse.
I had a similar issue. I did a plan drop and filter changed and it basically fixed it. I couldn't believe the difference there was with new filters and fluid. By the way I only have 40K on my truck, service isn't until 60K. I would try this, you are close to the same mileage as I was.
