Clutch Issues....
I'm trying to diagnose a clutch problem on my truck (07 4.7L 4x4). The pedal is sloppy (get about half way in before theres any resistance) and it's hard to shift. Went to leave work the other day, backed out and killed it starting forward. When I first started it the clutch felt fine, right after I killed it, it started doing this.
Everyone I've talked to/everything I've read says hydraulics. There's no obvious leakage, and the fluid level is fine. Is there any way to check the slave cylinder on these trucks? There's no obvious way to see if it's moving or not (the 2nd Gens apparently had a dust cover that gave access, I've not found anything like that).
I'm not sure if the warranty covers things like this (it's still under the 3yr basic, but I know the lifetime doesn't cover it).

May be the release (throw out) bearings going South. Doesn't matter, either way, more likely than not, your gonna have to pull it. Plan on a new disc and pressure plate, release brg at least. Get all the wearable items ahead, and possibly a new input shaft seal too. cover all the bases, and shoot for a Like new rebuild. Then you won't have to do it again for a long while
