Default Locations for CB Installation

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 quad cab and have checked the forums for related posts and have found nothing that answers my specific questions.

I am going to install an in-dash nav unit, so I will be modifying the dash bezel to fit a double din unit. I am also wanting to add a cb radio to my system. I would ideally like to install it in the "pocket" under the climate control but was the "pocket" is only 5" deep I am not sure if this is possible. Is there any extra space behind plastic bin? or does anyone know of a quality cb radio that is less than 5" deep?

Any responses would be helpful. Thanks.

a few guys on here have mounted thier cb radios in the dash. there is some extra room behind that pocket. you just have to cut the back out so that the radio will fit through. that is what i am going to do when i find the time! lol

If you get a smaller unit, the in dash will work pretty sweet. I know RamHunter will have some good feedback about this. I mounted mine vertically next to my transfer case shifter, in front of my cup holders when they are laid out, and against my seat. LOL, does that make sense?

This has been covered many times over the years. Usually in the Diesel section.

Here is a link to a mount for between the seats:

thats kinda what i wanna do, but i have the flip down cup holders. i was thinking about putting it in the storage compartment under the middle seat, but it would be a PITA to adjust the controls and heat would be a problem too. i need the cup holders to be able to flip up too. i have a cobra 29LTD black chrome radio. but i also have 3 other radios and one of them is the small midland radio. its a piece of junk, but it might be my only option. where can i find the bed rail antenna mounts? i want a double set up.

ETA: RH, is that aux cable running to your radio? how does that sound over the speakers?
