Do I need a SuperChips for a Magnaflow y-pipe and at3030 muffler?

I have a Magnaflow Y and you do have to have that welded in. The will cut some off after the cats and the do some pipes to get to the Y.

You will definitly get better sound and performance from the 3030 and y-pipe. The stock y-pipe is very restrictive.[/quote]
You do not need a programmer for the upgrades you listed. But the tuner will give you your best bang for the buck out of all the basic upgrades.

Uh teach is right you do not need the sc programmer, stay away from preprogrammed chips as well. i haven't done that yet but i might soon, i also will be taking a trip soon too sandusky ohio, i'll post the mpg's and how the truck performed.
I do disagree somewhat with the term very restrictive imo it flows quite naturally out of the heads speaking strictly about the stock y=pipe what they did for stock after that was rediculous imo ie; cat, muffler, resonator, that was restricting.

So when I swap the mufflers, should I delete the factory resonator?

Some folks keep the resonator to help with drone from the muffler. I have a Magnaflow dumped, so there is not resonator anywhere... I do have a little bit of drone at a very low rpm, but its more from my intake than anything else. With the stock intake, I did not have any issues.

The convergence of the two pipes into the one midpipe is very restrictive. Just removing that one 12" section and replacing it with the magnaflow y has shown rwhp gains of 5-10 hp. Check out this link, it shows a side by side comparison between stock y and magnaflow.

i just got my magnaflow y and at3030 welded on last week. i had it dumped so the resonators are gone. its a nice sound, DEEP, and its loud but not annoyingly loud. there is some drone around 1500rpms but i can live with it.

as for performance, i feel like i might have lost some low end torque, but nothing major. my only complaint about the setup is that the sound is kinda muffled because of the turndown after the muffler. i think im gonna save up some more money and run duals out the back instead, that should get rid of the drone too.
