Do I need a SuperChips for a Magnaflow y-pipe and at3030 muffler?

Hey guys, going to be going on a road trip in about two weeks. I want to know if I will need to get a programmer if all I'm doing is replacing the factory y-pipe with a magnaflow one from autoanything and an AT3030 muffler or magnaflow, etc. to replace the stock muffler.
Is it possible to unbolt the old y-pipe and bolt the new one on and cut the old muffler out and get some of those "u" attachments or do I have to have them welded?
Also, should I notice a better sound, power and gas mileage from these upgrades?

The magnaflow y-pipe is a weld in piece, so you need to cut out the old y and have the new one welded in. Probably need to have some pieces put in there to make the original pipes line up with the new y. There are some guys on here who have the magnaflow y, so they will be able to tell you for sure.
You will definitly get better sound and performance from the 3030 and y-pipe. The stock y-pipe is very restrictive.
Would I get better performance if I go ahead and do the muffler for now and "bolt" it on and wait on the y-pipe until I get my headers and superchips? (I know that I will need to have a y-pipe fabricated for 3" headers and I need to check with the UT emissions if I can move the factory cats down some.)
It can either hook right up to the headers or you can put cats on it like I did. You can see the cats I attached to the y pipe at the top of the pic on each end of the y pipe.

Hey teach why did you put cats on and why at the top of the y-pipe? Im looking at getting a full exhaust soon and just want to know as much as possible before i do. And also do you know if pacesetter sell's a larger diameter y-pipe
The cats are aftermarket by magnaflow. I put them on bc I don't like the smell of an exhaust without cats and also bc if I ever got caught without cats my truck would go straight to impound. As far as a large y pipe, the one I got is 3" and I haven't seen one larger than that from pacesetter.
