Default Cold Air Intake Question?!?!??

This friday I am suppossed to get a K&N Cold Air Intake Kit put in my 2006 ram 1500 thunderoad edition with hemi. My question is just today my friend was reccomending that I dont get a K&N but rather a Mopar or Airaid Cold Air Intake Kit instead so im just wondering what Air intake kit will give me the best performance and reliability. Someone had mentioned that Hemi's breathe better with and Airaid but im not sure if thats true or what to get.

The K&N is solid, check the FAQ section and you'll see it's the most popular one. The Mopar is just an AEM Brute Force with a Mopar sticker that they charge you double for. The Airaid is ok, but I'm not a big fan of the filter.

The key to this mod is to get the restrictive "Hemi-Hat" off the front of the throttle body and the larger cone filter is a plus.

Hell, you can make one out of $10 in PVC for the pipe and elbows, another $20 in boot, clamps and paint and just pick up a good K&N filter for about $35 at the auto parts store and it will flow just as many CFMs as a $300 commercial unit.

I recently made one for a member who happens to also live in Orlando:

I got the Airaid off eBay for pretty cheap and it is a nice intake.

Ya I made mine from auto parts from autozone. It cost my about 50 to make. It doesnt look as good as the 300 dollor ones but it does the job good.

I did buy the K and N and I dont have any complaints about it. i got the 57 series. dont look for anything in the way of mpg gains but it adds alittle power and you can beat the sound when you get on it.just dont get a metal one.
