You gotta be careful with the blue wire though. On my old Jensen HU there were 2 blue wires, 1 bl/ and 1 bl/wt. The blue one was for a remote/sub, the blue w/ white tracer was for the power antenna. The problem was, I used the one for the power antenna. Jensen had the bright idea that you don't need an antenna if you're playing DVDs or CDs so I couldn't figure out why I didn't have any sound when using the DVD/CD player. Lesson learned:

Ya thats when ol' red comes in.I've never went wrong there.

But red is for major power most of the time, like 3 15" Kove Armagadons, 1000 Memphis D amp power blocked to 600 Memphis PR, dropped too an 1ohm load.

But thats in the past and still wonder why I wasted my money on that stuff...... ohhh I remember cause the ladies love the good vibrations!LOL

yah i have a red switch wire. my blue one was form my bimmer and was wired to something in the trunk, so its not long enough for my ram, so i have the same gauge red wire lying around so im just gonna use that and i guess power it to the other red wire.

OICUDRIVE12 i probably wont do what you say about better loudness since its risky...but im curious about your tips!

the cigarette lighter has a gray plug sticking out the end with two wires coming out, a red/yellow and black. Just bend the red one over and stick the ignition wire down in the hole with the red wire

Ive had it done on two vehicles and never had a problem. I dont know what COULD go wrong, its not drawing hardly any power from it so you cant blow a fuse

Installation....I pulled out the two door sills, front panel by your left foot, plastic guard under the seat belts (both pillars)...leaves you with a pretty good bit of room to run wires, and with a coat hanger you can run/pull wires to wherever you want to run the amp.

The hole in the firewall behind the gas pedal is pretty much where I run everything. Make sure wherever you ground you grind first, the coating is thick enough to not ground out right. There is a hole in the carpet under the driver seat where the wires go for your power seats, so you dont even have to cut the carpet.

You could run the amp to behind the back seat. I woulda done that and might end up changing it to back there. You can take the seatback out, flip the bracket on the back wall, and that allows your seats to fall forward if you want. You can mount the amp to the back wall. Just remember, you want your ground to be fairly short. And keep your speaker wires away from truck power wires, it will cause some engine noise

OICU is right, you could use the blue wire, but Ive always used the cigarette lighter. I like the option of running the radio WITHOUT the subs, in case I want to listen to it for awhile while working outside of the truck (as to not deplete the battery)
