Homemade Intake!
I just wanted to post this thread of my new intake cause I was looking around for lots of different ideas so now here is mine! Its all 3" and took an hour at the most. It has a throaty sound and picks up alot better now I love it! Probably the one of the better things I have done so far that was very inexpensive everything costed me not even $50, the filter was the most expensive and I just got the lower end one for now. This is my first dodge and my first try at making an intake so dont be to hard on me haha.

That looks good. i have been thinking about making one of my own also. I have a K&N CAI with the plastic tube right now. I was pondering instead of stopping behind the headlight, i was going to run an additional piece down below kind of behind and above the fog light. ill probably just go right above where the inner fender ends so it wont get too wet when it rains.

Nice job, the paint job looks awesome. The only thing I would be concerned about is that it is sitting right above the motor and sucking in the heat from the motor (at least that is what the photo looks like). You might want to consider shielding that some how. Or making a deflector mounted in the front end of the truck near the grill to force more fresh air into the engine compartment. The whole idea of the cold air intake is cold air or the coolest air possible.. I am not ripping on your design, just an opinion. I have recently redid mine from a 3" to a 4" and still worried about my design not getting full benefits with out a shielding device and also a ram air device and mine sits right at the opening near the over flow bottle and the grill.
