Lightbulb Rear Bumper Removal

So, after painting my front bumper this past weekend, I am doing the rear bumper this coming weekend.

Any tips/tricks on removing the rear bumper? I have a dealer installed tow hitch, not the factory one. Any surprises I should be aware of?

Removing the rear bumper is pretty easy. IIRC it is just 8 bolts (3 on each side and 2 that went into my hitch) and then it comes right off.

ya i just replaced mine, and it was just like off road teacher said but the two center bolts under the license plate didn't go into my hitch, the bumper wasn't attached to the hitch at all and its a factory hitch

I figured it was not a big deal. The front one comes off pretty easily as well. I was just making sure there was not anything weird to be aware of!

I'm guessing the two middle ones are the ones that are under the cover on the step plate? And of course I will provide pics when I am done....

ya. tell me how you get your plug disconnected too! i dont know if they installed mine wierdly but i couldnt get the plug out from the bumper, i have the same one as you.

when i did my body lift i had to sit the bumper on a couple of chairs since i could only take it as far as the cord would extend haha!

the 4 screws around the plug come out and the whole plug falls right out of the bumper!
