The lady who works at the Auto Zone here in my town is top notch. One of the guys was helping me the other day, and I asked the model number for the oil filter. She just rattled off a number, smiled and went about her business. The guy checked the computer, and said she was right!!

Rick,
Don't do that. They are only pointing out the dummies. I have a good Advance Auto store in Appomattox. It's the NAPA that gets me going. Ordered Caster Camber adjusters. Set up an appointment for the alignment and NAPA sends me one side only. Pissed away half a day waiting for the other side to show up.

Quote: Unlike here on DF, where 90% of these yo-yo's let their testosterone go to their heads whenever anybody with ***** posts, unfortunately I've found that 99.9786% of all auto parts store employees don't have a brain to shut off.

Hammer, I have boobies too! With a beer gut lol

its funny reading through this and seeing how different the service is at all the same auto stores around the country... it is truly the people that make the difference.
I always go to advance auto first, they have an awesome staff, even a guy who knows rams pretty well, and they always have my parts the next day, and they never question my modding/cobbling techniques. if they dont have what i need i go to o'reilies, they are new in town but are very helpful and have a lot of stuff in stock. the last two places i ever go are Napa and Carquest... buncha dumb chits working there and i HATE when they tell me what i am trying to do wont work... i know it will work you dumb bastid, its been done 100's of times by the DF guys! they treat me like i'm some dumb punkass kid... rant over.

oh, and the manager at advance calls me "BOSS" i like that

I'll second the vote for RockAuto
They can get stuff to me by the time I can explain it to the local establishments - and that's trans-border.

The Napa near my folks house has always been good but I heard recently the store changed hands so I can't say now. The one up here near school is pretty good too, no complaints yet.

We have an O'Reilley's in town and it's ok, most of the young kids that work their are half retarded but the older help is top notch. Theres a lady that works there, i swear she knows more than all the guys there it's hilarious. Everytime they question her she pwns them

I think NAPA is way over priced, the only reason I ever get stuff there is because I have a business account there and get stuff for list, you wouldn't believe their mark-up. I tend to go to Auto Zone and Advanced for the price, not the people.
