Default 06 Dodge Ram Hemi Turbo Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Problems

I have a boosted Hemi Ram running 7psi of boost, every since I installed the turbo on the truck, the throtle will hang wide open from time to time when it goes into full boost at wide open throttle, it did this right regular at 5psi of boost, now that it is running at 7psi, it sometimes will cutt off and the ETC light will flash on the dash and the engine acts crazy. It seems as it the throttle plate is being held or forced open when it goes into boost. Does anyone know of anything that would help with this problem and has any knowlege of this! thanks

Im just throwing out an idea so dont hate me if its wrong... maybe when there is too much boost and the air is flying through the throttle body it puts too much preassure on the butterfly opener motor and gets pushed open then maybe causes a malfunction in the sensors? Just thinking out loud

The TB motor has enough power to cut your fingers off. If you are going into limp mode then you have a tuning problem. Too high of a MAP sensor voltage under boost is common.

Hey speed, not to get off topic, but do you have a manual or automatic tranny, and since the turbo, how's the power been? Any dyno numbers? What typeof exhaust or headers? And how's the gas mileage been since? About the hang... I would take it to a professional dyno shop, hopefully one that specialies in turbo and supercharging, and have them look at it, and possibly get a custom tune programed.

It is a automatic transmission, stock exhaust manifolds, no exhaust after the turbo in other words it comes from the manifolds to the cats and then to the turbo under the truck and ends out the turbo (sounds like a jet) I just put a set of 39 lb injectors in it and haven't got it tuned or dyno yet, my electric radiator fan just blew a few days ago so everything is on hold for a bit. It pulls real hard with very little lag or hesitation and will smoke the tires first through a half of second from a stop. But the throttle thing is a bit scary, once I go full throttle, it may or may not hang so I allow plenty of room in front of me when driving. Does anyone know what the fix is for the high map sensor voltage problem in boost? It's not running lean but it does run a little rich at idle, gas milage is great, the display reads 22.2 when I drive it smoothly for a while, the gas milage got better with the turbo than it was without it, the truck has been lightened up a bit and it is a short bed standard cab with a air net tailgate

So if I am reading this correctly, you added a turbo without any custom tuning???

Your Ram uses Fly-by-wire so there must be a sensor on the gas pedal..No? Maybe it's possible that the senor is tripping up the voltage because of an internal short?
I'd check the voltage readings on your PPS (pedal position sensor) AS WELL AS your TPS (throttle position sensor).
To check this, you backprobe with the key in the run but not started position. Measure the idle voltage(TB closed) and the WOT voltage(manually open the TB using the gas pedal).
I have no idea what the specs call for voltage at idle and WOT, but I would imagine that they both would have the same readings as one another???
ohh, measure both parts and use the pedal to openb the TB for BOTH readings ( I think that's how it's done????) Never had the experience of measuring PPS voltage, just TPS

your voltage spec should be .5 volts at idle and 4.5 at WOT
