Default 545rfe shift kit for the Ram

ok i have 2 questions.. I have been looking to improve the shifts on my 2006 Ram. They are just too smooth for me. I have even tried the Transmission line booster mod. It worked great for a few days (especially when the tranny was cold) and then my transmission started to feel like it was slipping and the shifts became less firm and took much longer. So i removed it as soon as i could. I bought a superchips flashpaq and it raised the shift pressure a good bit but there were no noticeable performance gains so i took it back. i couldnt see spending 400 bucks on a programmer that just changed shift points and pressure. But I have looked around on the net and found a few kits for the 45rfe/545rfe but they all say 99-05 models. I was hoping to find one but looks like i'm out of luck again. Do they have a kit specifically for the 2006+ or will the 99-05 kit on the 06 models?
Ok second question.. Does B&M make the Trick Shift fluid in ATF +4? I've used it before in various vehicles and i was surprised that it helped alot with shift pressure. Maybe some one will give me some good news on any of this lol.. Thanks

dont use anything other than good old atf+4 in these trannys. not even additives. they are super fussy about that. transgo HD-2 will work on any year 545RFE. why not save up for a sharadon valve body? its better than a shift kit.

and you didnt feel any performance gains with a superchips? are you sure you were using it correctly?

Ah thanks, i was just curious about the fluid. and is stage 2 or stage 3 better for just normal street use? Maybe occasional drag runs.

Maybe this would explain the no performance gains, i have the 4.7L. I would have figured it would have helped a little... When i had it programmed I drove around for about a week and a half to let the pcm relearn the performance tune but nothing ever changed. I didn't see any changes in the times using the data logging. I even filled the tank with 93 before i programmed it. The only gains i saw were in mpgs on both the performance tune and the Mileage XS tune. But i was satisfied with the shifts just not enough to keep it.

stage 2 is your best bet for a daily driver. stage 3 is more for track. sucks about the superchips though. they usually work out awesome for just about everyone.
