yeah you need an air tight seal but I wonder how it knows the difference...??? the sensor that is...

You need a tight seal, and if I read another post recently when he did his cai that sensor is directional. You may have it turned the wrong way in there. It snaps in the factory hat a certain way. Very nice BTW, you may also want to pull that thing for a quick shot of paint!!

i might have to try and find a rubber grommet or something. oh well it will have to do until monday. it wont cause a problem will it?

yeah i am going to paint it black eventually. and its facing the right way. i remembered that from the multiple CAI threads on here. but it very well may not have a completely tight seal.

The other guy went to the section in the auto parts store and went down the "help" section and found a rubber seal that fit perfectly,. Look at the posts from a few days ago, he gave a part number for it. maybe it would help.

those sensors are only 10 bucks, well mine was only 10 bucks, so i bought another one and glues and siliconed it into the pipe lol

see i glued it in with some of the cement i got to put the pipes together. but who knows. i will go get the code checked and go from there.

Ya gotta rtv it so you get the seal and youcan pull apart if need be. i actually used silicone caulk lol. hey it works.

^^^ yea same here, i just looked at the sensor inside the old thing and positioned it the same way in my cai.... everything runs fine so i guess its all good
