I have a Gibson and it does drone a bit . At idle it aint real loud but you stomp it and its pretty loud. I like it but the drone would be annoying if you drove it alot. I drive mine mainly on weekends. I dont think the damn cab is insulated very well which probably gives most aftermarket pipes some drone.

Thanks guys, some good info. The Gibson is a little cheaper but it sounds like the magnaflow is a little better system. If any of you 1500 megacab guys have the magnaflow what is you model #, I've been getting mixed info from the customer service people online.

16696- That's what it says HERE anyway.

EDIT: Wait, my bad, I looked up a 2006(mine), yours is a 2008, it doesn't list one for 2008 w/ a solid front axle. Not sure what difference it would make on a cat-back though.
EDIT # 2: It says 16850 for a 2008 Mega Cab with IFS, which doesn't exist so ya got me.

A well designed x-pipe should reduce back pressure by smoothing out the exhaust pulses when they combine at the intersection. You gain the benefit of smoother flow that allows the exhaust to travel the remainder of the exhaust system faster and reduce the exhaust noise. An h-pipe will do a decent job of reducing the noise as the sound pulses try to cancel each other out, but the flow has a hard time turning the corner, so not much savaging takes place.

I would just phone them up to see what kit you would need. My best guess is that it will be the same kit used in any other QCLB Hemi powered HD ram.

I would call Magnaflow and be 100% for sure the system you buy will fit. I know for a fact that they do not offer a kit for a 2008 1500 Extended Crew cab. I bought one and had to return it because it would not fit. Called Magnaflow and they only offer a kit for a 2008 1500 Mega Crew Cab. The kit I was sent looked like the devil! The box was crushed and looked as if it had been around the world.
