error code 0405
Up in the FAQ there is a list of all codes, next time check there first.

P0405 is a EGR Position Sensor Low Voltage indicator, it can be thrown by the EGR not being in the right place right time etc (edit: could also be a bad sensor). First things first check your EGR connector harness and make sure its not dirty. Then you should probably look at all the wires coming off of it to make sure they look ok. Could be a bad sensor and needs to be replaced. As for where the sensor is, you got me.

Im pretty sure the sensor is built into the EGR. First thing would be to clean the plug like Daniel mentioned but chances are its shorting out in the valve housing and relaying the low voltage back to the PCM.
Thanks guys. i'm going to pick one up tomorrow. truck has acting up lately, idle up and down feels real slugish and and just stalls out sometimes randomly. was getting error codes 0404 which is 02 upstream sensor,0420 and 0405. changed the 02 left and right awhile ago but still throws that 0404 code. some say 40 key starts and it will clear but i've done way more than that. gonna change the egr tomorrow, already cleaned it up but to no avail didn't help..
So that's where the sensor is huh? I know on some vehicles it is a separate 60-70$ part. If its been idling like that then def try to swap it out. While your at it you might wanna check and clean your throttle body too. If you wanna try to get rid of the code and the CEL, either disconnect your batt for a few minutes or do the pcm reset thats in the FAQ.
