Mis-firing, reactivation control performance code
Does anybody know what the code "reactivation control performance" means?
A few days ago my '07 Ram 1500 HEMI started mis-firing. The code kicked was "misfire cylinder 4". I pulled over, cleared the code (Edge tuner), kept driving, and it smoothed out for 2 days at which point it started to happen again.
I just went out and got a new coil and 2 new plugs (the old ones in cyl. 4 were a little fouled but not awful) and the engine is not running any better. I scanned again and at some point since it started happening there were 2 more codes: reactivation control performance cylinder 4 and reactivation control performance cylinder 6.
Google didn't turn up too much, I saw a post about an MDS cylinder, another claiming I may have a broken valve, but nothing definitive. Any ideas? Any advice?
Thanks guys,
-Ryan

Since this may be of use to someone...
The initial problem was a mis-fire... I replaced the coil and plugs on the cyl. in question and the problem didn't go away (it had gotten worse on the drive home during the first mis-fire). This is when I noticed the "reactivation control performance" codes.
I replaced all 16 plugs (PITA) and ran some fuel-injector cleaner through it... not better.
One dealership said they wanted to do a full fuel-system and ignition test, etc.. etc... Not happy with that I called another dealership and got some stellar advice: "Un-plug the battery, touch the terminals together for ~20 minutes".
It worked like a champ. From what I was told, "reactivation control performance" refers to the system that closes valves / cuts fuel to the cylinders while in MDS mode. This apparently became stuck due to the misfiring cylinder and once I replaced the coil+plugs the misfire was cured but this was still stuck. Draining the PCM (by holding the terminals together) resets the system and everything is back to normal

Yes, the battery term. just take the positive off and hold it to the neg term for a couple minutes. this is also know as a hard reset of your PCM. i think that there is another way that you can reset the PCM involving a fuse and turning the ignition, but i can't remember it at the moment (search for "PCM reset" and you should find it)
It will dump all of the data that the PCM has "learned" and reset all your parameters back to stock (or tuned if your running a programmer)
