Question Hello 3rd gen! (snow plow)

Hello 3rd gen! I'm coming to you guys for snow plow's. Most of the 2nd gen section don't plow so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

I'm looking at plowing this year with my 01 1500.

I was woundering what you guys are plowing with. I have been looking at boss, meyers, snowdogg and snoway plow's. I'm only getting 7'5" blade.

So what are you guys plowing with and how do you like your plows? Any failers with any of the above models?

I'm more looking for the failing stuff but will also take tips ect.

Just to give you some back ground on my truck. I have a 3" suspension lift with new coils and extra leaf soon to be 2 extra leafs. I'm going to be getting some gear work done soon 4.56 and I think I'm going to just get 2 truetacs and scrap the rear locker. I will be plowing with 33" mud tires.

Thanks for you time,
Dodge1500!

I don't have any plow advice for you since I have not plowed since I was a kid with my dad. But I do have a question for you. Where are you getting your gear work done?

I plowed with a 9 ft snow way this year on a f350 mason dump. its a fully remote control plow which is really cool and comfortable to use. it was brand new this year and worked excellant but im leary as to how the electronics will hold up in the future. but you cant go wrong with western, or fisher. fisher has those new plows with the stainless moldboards which means less maintenance. btw western, fisher and meyers are all the same. all those companies have the poly moldboard plows which means slightly less weight which is better for a 1500 series suspension. ive been thinking about putting a plow on my truck and thats what id get. i would only stick with the big brand companies and stay away from the cheesy brands, its worth it to get a good plow to start with and have it last, as long as you dont beat the crap out of it.

and btw, bless your heart for wanting to start plowing.

Don't worry I don't tread here often I have stepped on enough toes in the 3rd gen world.

I'm just looking for more insite since the 2nd gen section is lacking snow plows.

Just an fiy about plow plows the weigh more than steel plows due to the extra bracing needed for the plow.
You carry less weight with a steel than you do a poly and I'm talking about the same sized plows.

all the snow we had this year I couldn't keep up with my drive way 200 ft long 8ft wide. Dad works at work during the snows and I was called in since I'm the only major 4wd at work. I was working 12hrs days. I'll post some pics.

We where going to spend 1300 on snow blower but I'm going to put my truck under the knife and go with a plow althow I don't want to. I also have been offered plowing work when I said it to my landscape bud at 90 an hr.
