Default Mud grappler or open country

I am stuck between the Nitto Mud grappler 35x12.5xR20 and the Toyo Open Country M/T 35x12.5xR20. I have read that the mud grapplers wear down fast and are pretty loud. I have not really heard anything bad about the open country m/t. The nittos are a hair cheaper. My truck is a pavement queen never sees any off road action. Which tire looks better? Which should I get? Do I need any kind off wheel spacers or anything like that or can I just throw them on my rim and enjoy? Any pics with either on a 20" rim?

on stock rims for both you will need spacers 12.50 you will be rubbing all day . and i would also get some flairs unless you like rock chips . if its a pavement queen none of the tires are right for you , stick with a AT tire . i had grapps on ol red hated them but they did well in the mud . to loud wear down to soon . for pic of them look at the totm sticky its the first one .

I don't think these are even 2 comparable tires. The MGs look BAD A$$, IMO. But like you said they are super loud, like a B-1 Bomber flying right above you. The Toyos are awesome tires, all around. They ride good, they look good, they wear good, and they are quiet. So basically, the only thing I think the MGs have on the Toyos is looks. I say go with the Toyos.

Well speaking from experience, I got the nitto mud grapplers on right now…I absolutely love them, they are loud but I new that before buying them, but I do see dirt roads and mud most weekends, so I can justify having them. If you only see pavement Id probably go with the toyos. Not as loud and more road friendly I hear. But hey its up to you. I don’t think you can really go wrong either way you go, both are a great tire.

The toyos are a street tire that is good in the mud. The nitto is a mud tire. If that gives you an idea haha. I have the toyo's and I love them, the nitto is a little better in the mud, but in all other ways than looks, the toyo is better. You will get much more life out of a set of toyos as well.

Toyo M/T is comparable to the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T. As mentioned before, they arent even in the same class as the Mud Grapps. For your driving habits, go with the Toyo or look at the trail grapps
