I recently switched to Mobil 1 myself and it got darker than usual sooner than expected but I remember people mentioning it's just the better (full syn) oil doing it's clean up job from the previous doo'doo that was in there. I'm sure others will chime in as well.

Its fine. M1 is a good oil its the only thing I currently use and its the only thing I used in my old F250 and in my moms old Dakota, never had any kind of issues from it.

Yeah, it'll tend to get darker quicker because of the additives(cleaners). Right before you do your next oil change, pour 1/2qt of Marvel Mystery oil and run it for a day or 2 before you dump the oil out. That will clean it up nice and polish the internals. Again, at the end of this oil life. No need to dump it out right now.

Looks like I found myself something to do before my next oil change. How many miles with that stuff would you recommend because I don't rack up hardly any miles daily unless it's Wed. or Thur.

You mentioned Marvel Mystery oil, i was wondering what it is all about. Is it compareable to the Lucas product line?

If it's gotten very dark that quick and it's a 4.7, keep an eye on temps.
If it's removing a lot of sludge from a previous owne,r who wasn't careful about service intervals, it might cause some damage.
Not to say this is happening in your case, but just be aware of synthetics excllent "cleaning" abilities.

I ruined a engine once using Marvel Mystery Oil. I poured it in on a perfectly working engine and not too long afterwards it started to knock. When I pulled the engine and took it apart, the MMO did what it was supposed to do and broke loose everything in the engine which then plugged my oil filter and oil feed/drain veins and return holes in the valley and ran the bottom of the engine dry. So I ended up spinning two rod bearings and destroyed a crank
