Just saw a youtube video of a v6 attempting to do the keytrick with the camera still rolling (may of been setup on the steering wheel). Anyway i dont think i will be doing that even if i did not have a tuner.

And think about it this way fellas, if your hand slips off that key and it engages again, that limiter will kick you so hard in the *** you wont know what hit you. Think about how hard it jerks you when you just hit the limiter, think about it if the limiter kicked in 15 or 20 mph over what its supposed to be at?

I had a Neon once as a rental and had an open stretch of road so I let it go. When at 115+ the governor kicked in and just like you said, it was a hard ****** in the car and it scared me. I have never been back to the speed since.

The speed limiter is very gentle as it uses the electronic throttle body to slow down the truck and not cut the fuel pump like on older vehicles. I have needed the key trick for every 1/4 mile race in the last two year. This year I finally broke down and bought a cheap POS 3815 handheld so hopefully the speed limit increase works properly.

I have foolishly used the key trick several times before but not lately. The longest I've held it was for about 25+ seconds while racing a Lightning. The truck was still pulling hard and we were moving. I let off when we were about to run out of space. This is a very stupid thing to do because these trucks can exceed their limit very easily. Always best to do it at a track.

Dangerous shmangerous. Whos to call some other fellow an idiot for tryin to get a little extra speed outta his truck. I don't care to have mine over 80 really just cause I don't really care about top speed too much these days but I had my 78 dodge pu with 2.73 gears above 140 and I'm still here.
