Default Installed Cherrybomb Extreme!!!!!! but.....

Got that sucker installed this morning, The deep sound it puts out is AWESOME!!!! its not as loud as i expected but then again i been listening to straight pipes for the past 6 months... BUT i also bought that 26 buck Y pipe from magnaflow and they said it was junk and i am better off just getting the whole thing.. Wat you guys think? If i do get the whole y pipe instead of like that adapter i bought i want to run new pipes all the way threw, wat would be the best size? and for headers, which is the best for a 4.7? and adding larger pipes for the exhaust will that make it louder? thanks guys!!! love the CB extreme SI DO, highly recommend it!

let it break in for a couple thousand miles, then you will really hear how loud it is. and i dunno what that guy was talking about with the y pipe. sounds like you need a new exhaust guy.

I just got in from the exhaust shop. Now I have the 5.7 but what I did was have them cut the stock pipes right at the factory cats, they ran 2.5" stainless pipe like how the factory y was routed then isntead of going into a y, it stays dual pipes which a "H" crossover and runs into a dual inlet single outlet magnaflow muffler. I wanted to get rid of that crappy factory y pipe. Now I know your running a single in muffler dual out. So maybe have them run 2.5" Pipes from the cats, under the transpan etc into a "y" pipe custom made then into 3" pipes back to you muffler??

It seems many guys jut get the magnaflow y piece and get it welded in, but I wanted to get rid of that crazy crushed piece that runs under the trans pan

Yea the stock y on my 4.7L is pinched big time when i was lookin at it, i am just going to take it to my buddies shop and me and him cut the pipes and run new pipes into the y pipe i got and weld it all together, i should have done my exhaust that way, but they only charged me 25 bucks for install

Dunno, sounds like that guy just didn't want to do the Y pipe, it takes a little fabbin' unlike the muffler.

I know the two performance shops (not muffler shops) where I talk to people RAVE that Maggie "Y"...

See i know how i am going to do it, and i even told them that and the owner of the shop said they use those y pipes for the split into duals out the back, they really aint a y pipe....... i just got my y pipe and left, but about me running new pipe all the way back? for a 4.7 would a 3in be to big?

I'd be very curious to know what their definition of a "Y" pipe is...
